Install ReelRatings in Chrome

  1. Open ReelRatings in the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Choose Add to Chrome and review Chrome's permission prompt.
  3. Open or refresh a supported streaming page and allow the extension on the site.
  4. Pin ReelRatings in Chrome for quick access. Hover or click a rating box for details.

Requires Chrome 127 or newer. Store installations receive approved updates through Chrome.

Manual installation or testing the renamed update

The published store version is 1.12.8. The 1.12.9 ZIP candidate prepares the broader streaming title and has not been submitted here. To test it, extract the ZIP, enable Developer mode at chrome://extensions, choose Load unpacked, and select the folder containing manifest.json. For an existing unpacked installation, replace files in the same folder and reload the extension and streaming tab. Unpacked installations are separate from store installations.

Does every title have a rating?

Some releases have no accessible score or share a name with another release. ReelRatings shows available verified scores. You can select the correct release when a match needs confirmation. First-time lookups can take longer than saved results.

Can I use it on other streaming services?

Adapters are included for Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Hulu, Max/HBO Max, Apple TV, Paramount+, Peacock, Tubi, Crunchyroll, MUBI, Hotstar/JioHotstar, SonyLIV and ZEE5. Netflix has the most real-use feedback; other services have adapter fixture coverage and best-effort compatibility. Regional and signed-in layouts vary. Picks cover up to 120 nearby loaded titles rather than the full streaming catalogue.

Where is my watchlist stored?

Your watchlist and preferences stay in this browser. Title queries and IDs can be sent directly to the rating providers for lookups. ReelRatings has no account requirement or analytics. Read the privacy policy for the full details.

Is this a Chrome Web Store installation?

Yes. The main installation link opens the published Chrome Web Store item. Its current title still mentions Netflix; the prepared 1.12.9 update broadens that title to streaming. The separate ZIP is for manual testing and does not replace a store installation.
